General Rules/Eligibility      

Event Rules:

The event will consist of two divisions. The advanced division will consist of juniors and/or seniors. The beginner division will consist of freshman and/or sophomores. Freshman and Sophomores can move to the Advanced level, however Senior and Juniors can NOT move down to the Beginner level. Chapter can have all teams compete in one division or split the teams between the divisions.

There will be a qualifying district level event to determine the teams that will advance to state level event.

-Each district will determine the number of teams a chapter may bring to the district level competition. 

-Each district may send the top 4 Beginner and Advanced division teams as well as the top 2 overall individuals from each division if they are NOT already on an advancing team to the state level competition.

Students must wear proper welding attire including coveralls or welding wear, boots, gloves, safety glasses and welding helmet. They must also provide their own tools including vice grips, wire brush, and chipping hammer.

Qualified judges from the classroom and industry will be used to evaluate the welds and the safety standards during the event.
